On Saturday 23rd June 2012, Northern Suburbs Rugby Football Club second rower Seti Tafua was playing in a game against Warringah at North Sydney Oval.
Seti had just won a lineout and followed the play to the ensuing breakdown, but this breakdown was to change Seti’s life forever – as a bad landing caused the dislocation and fracturing of Seti’s C5 and C6 vertebrae. This freak accident has resulted in the current situation that sees Seti in an electric wheelchair, with improving body function to his upper body and arms, but at this stage minimal lower body and leg function.
Northern Suburbs players and volunteers have been granted approval to stage a bucket collection at the Bledisloe Cup Test match between the Wallabies and the All Blacks in Sydney, to aid the future provision of services and improved quality of life for Seti.
Northern Suburbs ask that all patrons at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on the night ‘dig deep’ and contribute to a more assured future for Seti.
