A glorious clear day at Bon Andrews saw the rats arrive hoping to secure their first points of the season. From the kick off, early Norths dominance was negated by a number of mistakes and poor options, with Jack Hale eventually breaking through to open the account which Jimmy Ryan duly converted. The score remained 7 - 0 until half time.

Some good work from the backs led to Harry Bartholomew opening the second half account, 12 - 0 Norths. The rats had their moments of possession and contested willingly but were unable to break through the Norths defence.

A lineout steal from Toby Tucker and strong support from his fellow forwards secured good ball which found it's way out wide to Will Robson who raced over the line to leave the score 19 - 0 after the conversion from Jimmy Ryan. However the rats finally broke through after a fumble from the kick off led to a passage of play which ended with their number 8 bustling over under the posts, and with conversion the score was 19 - 7.

Norths struck back though with the backs executing another good move across the field with Harry Bartholomew on the end to seal his brace and the bonus point 24 - 5.

The rats had the final say with one more try and the final score of 24 - 14. The win moves Norths to 3rd on the table with the final round before the re-draw against Easts to come.
